— OUR STORY

A Practice Built
Around the Details.

Nook & Line is a Petaling Jaya interior design practice that works the way a good brief should — clear, considered, and without unnecessary noise. We've spent years refining a process that gives clients confidence from the first site visit to the final arrangement.

ABOUT THE PRACTICE

Who We Are

Nook & Line started with a simple observation: too many renovation projects in Malaysia end in frustration — not because of bad design taste, but because the process between idea and outcome is poorly managed. Measurements get skipped. Briefs get vague. Contractors receive incomplete documentation. The result is delay, rework, and disappointment.

We built this practice around fixing that. Every project at Nook & Line begins with a precise site survey — not a quick walkthrough, but a methodical assessment that becomes the foundation for every decision that follows. From spatial layout to material specification to contractor briefings, we document clearly and communicate directly.

We work with homeowners, business owners, and property developers across Petaling Jaya, Damansara, and the broader Klang Valley. Our clients tend to be people who care about getting things right — who want a space that works well and looks considered, without the chaos that too often accompanies renovation.

The name reflects our approach: a nook is intimate and purposeful; a line is precise and intentional. We draw both into every project we take on.

STANDARDS — HOW WE WORK

Quality & Professional Standards

Measured Documentation

All site surveys produce to-scale measured plans. Nothing is estimated — every dimension is recorded on-site and cross-referenced.

Scope Agreements

We confirm scope and fees in writing before any work starts. Changes to scope are documented and agreed before they're actioned.

Data & Privacy

Client information and project files are handled discreetly. We comply with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 in all data handling.

Revision Rounds

Two full design revision rounds are included in every drafting engagement. Each round is thorough — not just cosmetic tweaks.

Contractor Vetting

When coordinating construction, we work with contractors we know and have assessed. Unfamiliar contractors undergo a brief vetting before engagement.

Regular Updates

During construction coordination, clients receive structured weekly status reports. No vague "everything is fine" — specific progress against the schedule.

Interior Design in Petaling Jaya — A Measured Approach

The interior design landscape in the Klang Valley has grown considerably. Clients are more informed, materials are more accessible, and expectations have risen on both sides. What hasn't always kept pace is the process — the structured, disciplined middle ground between a client's vision and a contractor's execution.

Nook & Line occupies that space deliberately. We're not a one-stop renovation contractor. We don't source materials on commission or rush projects through to meet aggressive timelines. Our value is in the thinking, drawing, and coordination that makes renovation go smoothly — and that makes the end result look like it was meant to be there all along.

We work best with clients who have a sense of what they want but want help translating it into something buildable — and with clients who've had a difficult renovation experience before and want a more structured path the next time.
